Chicago Beer Guide

The question I get most often from you guys is, "I'm visiting Chicago, where should I go?" As much as I'd love to respond to everyone with a thoughtful response, my schedule just doesn't allow it :( Instead, I decided to write an article so that you guys can have a full guide to my favorite spots in town.

This list is made up of the places that I have visited, just because a brewery isn't on this list doesn't mean you shouldn't visit. It really only means I haven't been and cant personally vouch for it.

Best Hazy IPAs: Corridor Brewing

3446 N Southport Ave Chicago, IL 60657

Brown Line- Southport

Some of my personal favorite hazy brews include: SqueezeIt OG, Highway to Haze and Cosmic Juicebox!

They also have fantastic burgers! If you are here on a Monday after 5pm, they have a barman's banquet that includes a burger, beer and a shot for $15. It a really great deal!

Best Sours: Jolly Pumpkin Pizzeria and Brewery

5215 S Harper Ave Chicago, IL 60615

Some of my favorites include: Clementina, Oro de Calabaza and Turbo Bam!

They have delicious pizzas! When I went I had the South Pacific pizza! The pineapple is caramelized soooo nicely and complements the bacon well. Pro-tip: they have happy hour M-F 4-6pm which features $2 off drafts, wine and cocktails. If you have friends that don't like sours, they also serve North Peak beers :)

Most Unique Styles: Off Color Brewing

1460 N Kingsbury Chicago, IL 60642

Red Line- North & Clyborn

Some of my favorites include: Apex Predator, Dino Smores, and Spots!

Off Color is consistently one of my favorite breweries. Apex Predator is the beer I can always count on, no matter the time of year, weather or cravings I may have that day. If your looking for some great wild ales and styles you may not have heard of...check out Off Color!

Of course, if you have any questions feel free to reach out! I just figured this would help point you guys in the right direction! Happy travels!
